[Rewriting Saturday 20th Sept, 2003]
Weather: Fine
Mood: Average
First of all, Happy Birthday to Vivian (U6) and my cousin Vincent, turning 19 and 16 respectively!
Had only one lesson out of the 3.
First period free. Wanted to get there really early for a computer to do my Econ research, but then I wasn't the only one having that thought... I was even lucky to get a seat in the library. Weird. Got my MP3 in and listened to it while writing a birthday note to Vivian. Wasn't really in the mood to work in the first period. I mean, if I had a computer if front of me, I wouldn't mind, but not if I had to draft it on paper... then the incentive will all have gone.
2nd Period, the only lesson in the day (thankfully) was English. Discussed the charactes, settings, effect of "The Duchess of Malfi" by Webber. Handed in my 1700+ word eng essay. Feel kinda succesful.
Break afterwards and rushed into the library first thing to hog a computer.
Succeeded this time, yeah!
Since my 3rd was also a free, so got the computer for a total of 1 hour and 15 mins.
Gilbert turned up at the computer beside me and started to ICQ. Yikes. Started to argue about if my progress will slower down cause of ICQing while working on my Econ. I rebutted saying I did revise and stuff, just that he didn't see it. And he was like, then why has your Econ only got so few lines? And I said, because this is a research and you have to analyse and think before putting it down. Pretty stupid argument over the net huh? Then I asked, was it out of caring and concern or was he just being plain nosy? Got the answer that it was caring at first, but then nosy...*sigh*
Got the idea suddenly that i could attach my earphones and hear RTHK online! Wow... it was a wonderful feeling to be able to listen to a chinese radio. Finished my Econ work (haha to Gilbert), just didn't feel like printing it now.
Stupid printer in GIH doesn't have ink..so havta wait until morning to go into library to print.
Lunch finally.
Told Gilbert to wait for me to go into the Dining Hall, but he didn't and left Yi May and I in the long queue. He finally reallized it and very smartly I handed my phone to him in the long queue (and he was already inside) to hog a seat with. Pretty smart huh.
Trouble finally came when we were discussing about mobile phones and their functions (photo taking). Well... photos were being taken around the table without any permission, people won't delete them cause they looked so real, and revenge was taken.
So Jason used my phone to take pics of Gilbert and Yi May, Gilbert took one back of Jason... (with my phone again). and Jason insisted that I delete it. He perseverance was so strong that I had a feeling that I shouldn't delete it afterall. He tried to take revenge and didn't succeeded. The commotion continued for a long time, even after Alex came over to see what happened.
It was time for me to get back to GIH and get changed for sports and he even chased after me trying to make me delete it, saying it was violating copyrights or something... When I didn't cause he called me bad adjectives, he was really pissed off and walked away. Later he send back a SMS to say it was just a joke...Welll..! What should I believe?
Aerobics afterwards. It was pretty fun, although tiring, and I felt like I was going to collapse.
Freshers' Ball at about 7:30pm. The house made us all eat greasy stuff like pizza and chips before we headed off. They were afraid people will drink alcohol with an empty stomach and put themselves in danger. So anyway, it was a tradition of the GIH that the L6 has to take individual photos by the U6. And have to be on the stairs for a group photo. Well, the L6 won't let the U6 take pictures and the U6 insists that we take pictures. *sigh*
They were more excited than we were. People were all dressed up, all made up, and it was funny, a whole train of girls dressed up walking to Sackville Theatre for a Ball. Had to queue again to get in (you have to queue for everything here), and the first thing we knew was... it was like a disco... lights and loud music and all. You have to shout to people's ears to be heard. Basically, all we did was dance to the music. For the whole night. And take photos. And go out to have a drink. But that was just it. Not really special, to us, at least. I'll try to get the photos up as soon as possible. Although I don't know when they will fix the Wireless.
It was cold at first, but then it was so hot inside. The people and the dancing. The boys were thoroughly enjoying themselves, dancing to each other and moving around like ...monkies... (sorry for that word). But it was true. They looked like the characters in a Street Figher game, I was even being stepped on twice by those monkies.
Ball ended at 11 sharp and the girls were all taking their shoes in their hands and walking barefooted, which you could imagine how killing they were. I managed to survive my feet and make it all the way back to GIH before relieving my feet.
Slept at 12:30, with 5 girls still in my room talking.
