Back from camp. The details? Sure, here they are...
Our groups were divided into two because the ship that "tranported" us there can't hold too many people. We were the second lot. But then, because the first lot's ship was delayed, ours was also delayed. By about 25 minutes and we were all bored to death. Some went to buy ice-cream, others just stayed and played Big2 (note that, it may come to handy further down the entry).
Then suddenly, we were ready to board but the people who went to buy stuff were not back yet. Nevertheless, they told us to board the ship. They asked us if anyone was missing, we said yes, but they still left the pier. It was not until a few seconds later that they "found out" there were still some people not on board, and had to go back again.
Then we wend offboard at Wong Yee Chau. They distributed our rooms. At first we thought it was pretty nice and cosy, because they were air conditioned (that was one of the major things of what mattered to us). But then, we found that cockroach waste, ants and lizards were everywhere. We didn't put these in mind much, and continued with orienteering. It was fun, trying to find the answers to the questions. When we checked the answers, we were hysteric to find our second part was 100% correct (yeah!). Even those murderous island names.
Then we saw people playing the Roman Firing thing, which was basically something you make with sticks to throw water-bombs with. We were going to do that on the second day.
Dinner.
We had to cook them ourselves, well, that wasn't the problem, but the things they wanted us to cook were, quite, out of what we expected.
1) Roasted whole chicken.
2) Chinese sausage rice (this was among one of the easiest)
3) Orange egg (yeah, it sounded gross)
4) Bread (yes, we had to make out own bread, and cook it with the fire)
5) Can soup (the easiest)
We were the last group to get everything and found out that our cook set was kind of incomplete. No cups or plates for the seasoning for the chicken, and so, when we went there, only a little bit of sugar and a large amount of soya sauce was left. We put a lot of soya sauce, cause they were the only ones left.
We also had some problems with our bread. Luckily we were able to solve those problems by burning both with a stick.
But then, our lovely chicken fell to the ground. It was washed, along with the extra soya sauce, so that our chicken tasted just fine. Thanks to all the members, we had something to eat.
Then we had a game, and the Camp fire. It is so hard to imagine how St. Joan felt being in there, because we were already burning staying away from it.
After that, we bathed, and got ready to play. Uno, Big2, anything you could do with poker cards.
We are addicted to Big2. Everywhere you go, you can see people playing. Everywhere too. Whenever there is any free time, there will be people playing. Haa
Despite the cockroach's waste on the beds, ants, lizards and other insects crawling everywhere, it was quite enjoyable. Well, if we didn't have to always stand out into the sun, it would be much nicer.
Stayed up till 3sth a.m. playing cards, slept for only 3 hours.
My team, Antz, are actually quite united. If we compare it with the previous class activities, I can say we're pretty successful. At least we were united.
The orienteering, the dinner, the water-bomb fight... these were real memorable, as well as successful.
Keep up the good work! We still have two more workshops to go!
